Academy Of Finance & Business
Overview
Howard’s Academy of Finance and Business is a three-year program for students who are interested in money, business, and planning for the future. Starting in 10th grade, students split their school day between regular classes and special training in finance and business. This program helps students prepare for college or a job in the business world.
What You’ll Learn
Students in this program study topics like:
- How money, banks, and businesses work
- How to keep track of money and accounts
- How to start and run a business
- How to work with others and build strong relationships
- How to write and speak clearly in business situations
- How to get ready for a job, including communication and leadership skills
Hands-On Experience
This program is part of the National Academy Foundation (NAF), a group that supports student success in school and life. Students learn both in the classroom and at real jobs. Some students can take college-level classes and earn credit while still in high school.
Certification
Students in this program may earn:
- Principles of Banking from the American Institute of Banking

After graduation or with a two-year college degree, students can work in jobs such as:
- Accountant

Earning Potential Range:
