Overview

The Business Technology program teaches students the skills they need to work in the business world. Students learn how businesses work, how to talk with customers, how to use computers, and how to manage money. They also learn about starting a business, hiring workers, and solving problems that happen every day in the workplace. This program helps students get ready for both college and jobs in many business areas.

Hands-On Experience

Students build their skills through class projects and real-world activities. They practice using business tools and computer programs. Some students can take college-level classes and earn credit while still in high school.

Certification

Students in this program may earn:

  • Microsoft Office Specialist Certification in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
  • Microsoft Office Master Certification for passing all five advanced exams—this can also count as college credit

Earning Potential Range:

Students in this field can earn between $13.25 and $20 per hour, depending on the job and level of experience.
