Industrial Mechanics / Millwright Technologies

Overview

The Industrial Mechanics/Millwright Technologies program provides comprehensive training in the multiple craft skills needed to repair and maintain mechanical equipment, rotating equipment, and plant systems. Students learn to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of power transmission systems, machinery, piping, pumps, and conveyor systems. The curriculum emphasizes the utilization of blueprints, field sketches, repair manuals, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software. Key areas of study include pipefitting, welding and burning, layout and metal fabrication, machining, rigging, power transmission systems, shaft alignments, fluid power, and machinery design and repairs—all from a maintenance and repair perspective. Qualified graduates may receive advanced placement in the Trade Apprenticeship Program and earn college credits through articulation with Delaware Technical & Community College via Tech Prep.
