Overview

The Legal Support Services program at Howard High School of Technology helps students explore careers in law, public safety, and human services. Students learn about working in legal offices, law enforcement, emergency dispatch, corrections, security, and crime scene investigation. The program includes classroom learning and real-world experience through job shadowing, field trips, internships, and co-op jobs. Students also work toward earning national certifications that can help them get jobs after high school.

Hands-On Experience

Students apply what they learn through field trips, internships, and co-op jobs. These real-world experiences help build confidence and prepare students for work in legal and public safety careers.

Students may earn:

  • Public Safety 911 Telecommunications
  • Delaware State Private Security License
  • Red Cross Emergency First Aid Certification
  • Emergency Telecommunications Certification (APCO International)

Students in this field can earn between $42,159 and $80,000, depending on education, experience, and job location.
