Health, Physical Education, and Driver Education

Health Education
This course helps students learn how to make safe, healthy choices for themselves, their families, and their communities. Topics include:
- Mental health and personal values
- Family life and human sexuality
- Substance use (alcohol, drugs, tobacco)
- Diseases and disorders
- First aid, safety, and accident prevention
- Nutrition and healthy eating
- Environmental and consumer health
Credit: 0.5
Physical Education (PE 1 & PE 2)
PE includes a variety of physical activities that build fitness, teach sports skills, and encourage teamwork. Students learn how to play safely, work together, and stay active for life.
Credit: 0.5 per course
Driver Education
Available to all 10th grade students, this course includes classroom instruction, driving simulations, and behind-the-wheel practice. It follows Delaware DMV guidelines. Students under age 18 must pass both a written and road test to earn a license.
Graduation Requirement: Students must earn 0.5 credit in Health and 1 credit in Physical Education to graduate.
