Carpentry Program
Overview
The Carpentry program prepares students for careers in the construction industry. Carpenters build and repair homes, buildings, and other places where people live, work, and gather.
Students learn how to:

Work with wood, aluminum, steel, vinyl, synthetics, and composite materials

Measure, cut, and build floors, walls, partitions, and roofs

Install doors, windows, cabinets, moldings, and stairs
-
Use hand tools, power tools, and portable equipment safely and effectively
This program is a great fit for students who are active, creative, and enjoy building things. Qualified graduates may earn advanced placement into trade apprenticeship programs after high school.
What You’ll Learn

Finishing work such as installing trim, doors, stairs, and cabinets

Hands-On Learning
Students gain experience in the shop and at job sites, practicing how to read construction plans, solve problems, and apply technical and creative carpentry skills.
Certification
- Pre-Apprenticeship Program Certification
This certification helps students qualify for jobs and trade apprenticeships after graduation.

Earning Potential Range:
Students in this field can earn between $15 and $43 an hour, depending on job and experience.
