Nursing Technology

Overview

The Nursing Technology program is designed to equip students with the physical, social, and emotional skills necessary for a successful career in the healthcare industry. This program specifically prepares students to become certified nursing assistants (CNAs) in the state of Delaware. Through a combination of classroom study, laboratory practice, and at least 75 hours of clinical experience in a local nursing home, students gain hands-on experience and learn essential skills for patient care. The program covers a wide range of topics, from understanding the structure and function of body systems to practicing infection prevention and monitoring vital signs. Upon completion, students are prepared to take the Nurse Aide Certification Examination administered by Prometric, which can lead to co-operative employment in their senior year.
