AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITY ROUTES

New Castle County Vocational Technical School District provides afterschool activity buses as a courtesy to our families. These buses are intended to transport your student closer to home to make it more convenient for parent/guardian pickup. The stops are not designed or intended for students to walk home from the drop off location. “Afterschool Activity Stops” are hub style stops where parents and guardians can conveniently park, and are usually located at convenience style stores and shopping centers. Allowing students to walk home from the activity stops is strongly discouraged.*
Please review the school specific routes listed below to determine your student’s route number and stop location. It is also advisable to take your student to the location so that your student become familiar with the stop location and so you and your student can determine a designated meeting spot.
Ride times may fluctuate depending on how many students are on the bus and traffic conditions on the specific day, but in general each route will build a routine for the specific athletic seasons. We cover the entire New Castle County. A full bus load of students that has to stop at each stop location along the route could take up to 2 hours.
“6:00 Afterschool Activity Routes” normally run every day. “4:00-4:30 Afterschool Activity Routes” run only one day a week. Please contact the school to determine which day of the week the “4:00-4:30 Afterschool Activity Route” will run.

*Afterschool activity bus stops are reviewed and adjusted to ensure that the drop point is a safe location and/or appropriate for high school aged students. Stops will not be added, moved, or adjusted in order to make the stop closer to one’s home or easier to walk home from.
