Gov. Markell Appoints New Member To NCC Vo-Tech School Board

Cheryl A. Dennis, an active member of the Delaware City Volunteer Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary for 30 years, has been appointed by Gov. Jack Markell to serve a seven-year term on the New Castle County Vocational Technical School District Board of Education. Dennis took her oath of office at the school board’s October 28 meeting.Unlike other Delaware public school districts, vo-tech school board members are appointed by the Governor, not elected by the community. She fills the seat left vacant when a former board member resigned before the term expired. Dennis's term will run until September 20, 2020. Read more
