How To Obtain an ApplicationApplications are mailed after November 1st to all 8th grade public school students who live in New Castle County. Applications are also available upon request from any of the NCC Vo-Tech high schools, or by calling the NCC Vo-Tech School District Office of Admissions (302-995-8035). A printable version is available (see below)*.
Completed applications may be submitted directly to the NCC Vo-Tech Office of Admissions, or to any NCC Vo-Tech High School (Delcastle, Hodgson, Howard, and St. Georges). Applications must include copies of the applicant's final report card from the previous school year and the most recent (current school year) report card. Report cards must include attendance information and must be readable. Completed applications also may be submitted to the current middle school counselor, who will forward it to the NCC Vo-Tech Office of Admissions.
Applications are not reviewed until they are complete. An application is complete when the form (with parent signature), essay, final report card from the previous school year, and a most recent report card are submitted.
For Eighth Grade Applicants Seeking Admission to Grade 9
Applications that are directly submitted to the NCC Vo-Tech Office of Admissions (1417 Newport Road, Wilmington, DE 19804) should be received by January 8th. Applications submitted to counselors are then forwarded to the VoTech Office of Admissions by January 8th.

Students may submit an application using the DE Standard Application for Education Options, found on the Delaware Department of Education website:
Applicants using the online DE Standard Application for Education Options will also need to provide supplemental information, including school and career program preferences, and copies of the applicant's final 7th grade and most recent 8th grade report card, which must include attendance, before the application is considered complete.
The NCC Vo-Tech Office of Admissions will continue to consider applications received any time during the school year or during the summer months; however, applications submitted by January 8 do receive primary consideration. Applications submitted after January 8 are considered on a case-by-case basis.
The NCC Vo-Tech Admissions policy is to provide as many students as possible the opportunity to attend. Safety considerations in the schools' career labs and available classroom space limit the number of students who can be accommodated each year.
Eighth grade students who have applied by January 8th and who are selected for admission to Delcastle, Hodgson, Howard, or St. Georges VoTech high schools will receive a letter in early March. Students must verify their acceptance by filing a Student Registration Form within two weeks of their notification. All admissions acceptances are "provisional" until the student is considered promoted.
* (See Delaware Promotion Requirements)
Students who are not offered admission will receive a letter in early March. These students may be given the opportunity for reconsideration if openings occur.
* (See Applicant Reconsideration information).

Grade 9 applicants who apply in May will be notified mid-summer.
Some students who are offered admission to a VoTech high school may not be able to accept. This will create a small number of openings for students who originally were not offered admission.
Students who have not been offered an assignment and who wish to be reconsidered should submit an updated report card, such as a copy of a 2nd, 3rd, and/or 4th marking period report card, to the Office of Admissions, NCC Vo-Tech School District, 1417 Newport Road, Wilmington, DE 19804.
As openings occur, the Office of Admissions will notify any student who, upon reconsideration, is selected for admission.
